TS-E and MP-E lenses on RF bodies — manual focus is by design
Canon's tilt-shift (TS-E) and MP-E 65 macro lenses have no autofocus motor. On RF bodies through the adapter they stay manual — that is the design, not a limitation.
The mechanical fact
The five lenses covered here are manual-focus by design: none contains an autofocus motor, so no camera body (EF or RF) can autofocus them. Through the Mount Adapter EF-EOS R the electronic aperture and lens communication still work — only focusing is manual. Canon's RF Lens World material explicitly names TS-E lenses among the EF lenses whose autofocus, IS, control, and optical-correction functions are retained on RF bodies:

MP-E 65 — one boundary note
The MP-E 65mm f/2.8 1-5× Macro Photo is an EF-mount lens, and the adapter statement excludes only EF-M and Cinema EOS lenses. No Canon page we could verify explicitly names the MP-E together with the adapter — the verdict relies on the EF-mount classification plus the exclusion list, and the lookup tool states this boundary on every MP-E result.
