RF and RF-S lenses on RF bodies — native mount
Canon RF and RF-S lenses mount directly on EOS R bodies with no adapter. What changes across sensor sizes: RF full-frame glass on APS-C bodies, and RF-S crop lenses on full-frame bodies (auto crop). Every statement cited.
Scope of the data
The RF-native corridor is exhaustive: 46 RF full-frame lenses and 7 RF-S lenses (Canon's APS-C-format RF line, including the dual and dual-fisheye designs) on 12 full-frame + 5 APS-C RF-mount bodies. Every RF lens mounts on every RF body — no adapter sits in the signal path, and the verdict badge reads Native for the whole corridor.
What changes with sensor size
Mounting is always native; coverage depends on the pairing:
- RF full-frame lens on any body — the image circle covers the sensor, full-frame or APS-C. On an APS-C body the field of view is simply narrower (the body's 1.6x factor).
- RF-S lens on an APS-C body — its home format; full native coverage.
- RF-S lens on a full-frame body — the lens projects an APS-C image circle, so the camera records in the central crop area.
The crop is automatic and body-enforced — there is no full-frame mode to switch to with an RF-S lens attached.

Stabilization
Stabilization rows come from the lens and body data, not from a blanket rule: an RF lens with IS reports Lens IS active, and on bodies with in-body stabilization the tool reports body IS when the lens has none. Nothing here is estimated — each row cites its source.
